Once, pharmacists manually located medications until a McKesson ROBOT-Rx substituted the drawer-puller's pace. Fewer repetitive tasks meant more job satisfaction, redeploying pharmacists as clinical consultants to physicians. Workflow shifted to dispensing oral solids, prepackaged and barcoded. It sparked a new dialogue between pharmacist, doctor, and patient—an endeavor to patch up the ill. The memory is a recorded drive, storing medical memorials and, sadly at times, a memoriam. I wrapped this electromechanical device that holds these memoirs, leaving you a glimpse of lifetimes and mortality. Eventually, this central robot gave way to decentralized Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs)—electromechanical hubs that securely stock floor medications, physically looking and operating much like ATMs.
